Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Grown is taking responsibility for social and ecological impacts related to our business, striving to become a sustainable company. Our engagement goes beyond that of designing, producing and delivering an eco-efficient
product with the lowest Global Warming Potential on the ski market, and offsetting its remaining CO2 equivalents.
From an ecological perspective, we assess the whole impact of our company on the environment and offset the total amount of CO2 equivalents, including heating our
offices, paper use, commuting to work, testing skis, and the kind of food we consume during working hours. Grown is a climate neutral business.
From a social perspective, we are dedicated to promote fair labor and honest relationships with people of our production, with employees, communities and our customers.
Our offices, our production, and our supplies are all based within short distance in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We produce regional and social standards and laws
in these countries are amongst the highest in the world.
CSR means different things to different people. To us, it means taking steps to maintain and improve the quality of life for our society, including customers, local
communities and our employees. Selling skis we are dependent on an intact environment in the most direct way, because we build products that people use in the white snowy
mountains of the world, enyoing the unique stuff called snow, alone and together with others.
Skiing has positive effects on people - fun, joy, exercise, health, relaxation
from work and stress, meeting new friends, maintaining relationships, connecting to nature - and a happy person contributes positively to society.
Skiing has also negative impacts on the environment; the product itself makes up for only a smaller part of these impacts. More important are the mobility and the travel impacts of
ski tourists, the construction and operation of hotels, guest houses and huts in the mountains, the transport of food and related consumer goods in the alpine, or the construction and maintenance of ski areas.
As part of our CSR engagement, we invest a percentage of our profit towards environmental stewardship and educational activities related to mountain sports
and sustainable tourism development, through the non-profit organization Telemarkzone.
